FFVIII OMEGA WEAPON

To get to Omega Weapon first leave the party your gonna use for the battle at the switch point by the fountain. Using your secondary party, go through the door on the right side at the top of the steps of the Front Foyer. This should take you to a room with a bell and a rope at the bottom of the stairs. Pull this rope to start the timer and leave your secondary party at the switch point in the same room. Take control of your main party and run through the large door to the north of the fountain. In the next room you'll find Omega Weapon waiting for you in the same place as the black smoke used to be. Run into him to engage the battle.

To prepare for this battle you'll need to rejunction your spells, make sure you have your best weapons and refine the cards you have into valuable items.

First, use Card Mod to refine all of the rare cards you've been collecting. Hopefully you've bothered to get the Gilgamesh, Bahamut, Angelo, Laguna and Chubby Chocobo Cards. If not, then you'd better hope this is your lucky day.

Squall, Irvine and Zell should have there ultimate weapons. This is crucial because without his Lion Heart weapon Squall can't use his Lion Heart limit break which is the most powerful attack in the game and causes about 200,000 damage without accounting for the damage caused by Renzokuken.

Junction 100 Death spells to each of your characters status defense. If you don't have enough Death spells then refine more from Saw Blades, Dead Spirits and Chef's Knifes. This is extremely important, because Omega Weapon uses Level 5 Death which will kill everyone with a single blow. Junction 100 ultima spells to the strenght of the male characters or Rinoa and 100 ultima spells to the magic of Quistis or Selphie. Junction 100 triple spells to everyones speed. Junction 100 reflect spells to everyones spirit. Junction 100 curaga spells to everyones vitality. Junction 100 full-life spells to everyones HP. Junction 100 meteor or 100 tornado spells to everyones evasion. Don't junction any magic spells to anyones elemental attack.

Make sure everyone can use magic and items. Make sure you've equiped a character with revive and another one with recover. Make sure you have some aura magic or some aura stones. Make sure you have a few Holy Wars or Heros.

Unequip everyones character abilities and equip these. Give Squall, Irvine, Zell and Rinoa strenght plus 60%. Give Quistis and Selphie magic plus 60%. Give everyone spirit plus 60% and vitality plus 60%. If you have any spaces left over equip things like speed plus 40%, return damage, auto-haste, auto-protect or auto-shell. If you have Carbuncle on a character who is very strong then equip that character with counter.

If your Eden compatability is under 700 then don't even bother with using it. Don't use any other GFs for this battle either.

For this battle my favorite party is Squall, Irvine and Quistis. Here is the equiping that I gave them.

Make sure that your characters have their ultimate weapons, best limit breaks and 9999 HP. (Note: your party needn't consist of these particular characters, but the junctioned spells, abilities and GFs should look similar.)

Omega's Attacks

NAME EFFECT
Meteor This attack should do a maximum of 1000 damage. If you keep you're health in check then you really don't have to worry about this attack.
Death This is the standard auto kill attack. If you have 100 death spells junctioned to your status defense then there is no chance that this will hit you.
Level 5 Death This is a spell that hits everyone in your party at level 100 with death. This can be prevented by junctioning 100 death spells to your status defense.
Light Pillar This is Ultima Weapon's signature move, it does 9999 damage to one character and never misses.
Medigo Flame This attack takes all of the characters HP down to one. Just use a Megalixer after the attack. If you don't have Megalixers then just improvise. Use Elixers, X-Potions or Curaga instead. If you have any Holy Wars or Heros then use them right after this attack without healing your party. This way you'll be constantly able to use limit breaks with everyone without a single Aura spell wasted.
Gravija This is a gravity based attack that takes all of the characters HP down by ¾. Just heal your characters and you'll be fine.
Terra Break Even though this attack looks like its magic, its really a physical attack. It does around 4,000 damage to each character about 10 times. This is the most powerful and devastating attack Omega can possibly dish out. If you don't have Holy Wars then sit back and watch the show; don't worry, you'll be dead in about 15 seconds.
Ultima This attack is really powerful. It should do about 3000-4000 damage to each character. Plus, he likes to use Ultima right after Medigo Flame, Gravija or Terra Break, well if you survive Terra Break that is. Good times.

Note: While the Holy Wars or Heroes are in effect, these attack will either miss or cause 0 damage.

The Battle

Right away have each character use Aura on themselves. Then, and only then use a Holy War. Only use limit breaks until both Aura and Holy War ware off. Then repeat what I said in the last two sentences until the battle is over. If you don't have Holy Wars use Heros. If you don't have either then you're screwed.
