Nations

Dalmasca is one of the few Kingdoms still existing in Ivalice. Rabanastre is where the palace is located and serves as their capital. It is located between the Archadia ruled nations of Valentia and Rosalia. Because Rabanastre is a strategic point in Archadia's continental control, they want to take over Dalmasca.
 

The Dalmasca War
Archadia ambushed the capital of Rabanastre in an extreme war. They overthrew the King and began their rule. There were many resistances to the rule, but all unsuccessful attempts led to the surrender of Dalmasca.

The royal family flees, and Ashe is left to take the thrown but disappears and joins a resistance fraction to combat the Archadian rule.

The Archadian Empire is Ivalice's biggest and most powerful military nation. They currently reside on the continent of Ordalia, and is in amidst of conquering the Rosalian Empire on the Valentia continent. Dalmasca is located between these continents and serves as a place of commerce between nations.

The Judge commands the Archadian militia. He is said to be more of an "Executioner than a Judge." He uses complete force and intimidation to defeat his enemies.
 

Invasion of Dalmasca led to the fall of the king and the establishment of Archadia rule. It was during that time that Ashe joined a resistance fraction to rebel against the Archadia rule.

Archadia's advanced military technology allowed them to have massive airships armed with destructive firepower. They also use them to scare away any uprisings against Archadia.
